I Samuel 18:17

17 Saul disse a Davi: - Aqui está Merabe, a minha filha mais velha. Eu a darei a você em casamento, com a condição de que você seja um filho valente e trave as batalhas do Senhor. Porque Saul pensava assim: ´Não seja contra ele a minha mão, e sim a dos filisteus.`

17 And Saul said to David, Here is my oldest daughter Merab, whom I will give you for your wife: only be strong for me, fighting in the Lord's wars. For Saul said, Let it not be through me that his fate comes to him, but through the Philistines.
