Juízes 11:17

17 Então Israel enviou mensageiros ao rei dos edomitas, dizendo: ´Peço que você me deixe passar pela sua terra.` Porém o rei dos edomitas não lhe deu ouvidos. Israel mandou pedir a mesma coisa ao rei dos moabitas, mas ele também não quis atender. E, assim, Israel ficou em Cades.

17 then Israel sent messengers unto the king of Edom, saying, Let me, I pray thee, pass through thy land; but the king of Edom hearkened not. And in like manner he sent unto the king of Moab; but he would not: and Israel abode in Kadesh.
