20 "If the Lord had not cut short those days, no one would survive. But for the sake of the elect, whom he has chosen, he has shortened them.

20 Portanto, se o Senhor não tivesse reduzido aquele período, nenhum ser de carne e osso sobreviveria. Contudo, por causa dos eleitos por Ele escolhidos, tais dias foram abreviados pelo Senhor.
