Lucas 4:2

2 where for forty days he was tempted The Greek for [tempted] can also mean [tested]. by the devil. He ate nothing during those days, and at the end of them he was hungry.

2 during forty days, being tempted of the devil. And he did eat nothing in those days: and when they were completed, he hungered.
