Esdras 9:7

7 Since the days of our fathers we have been exceeding guilty unto this day; and for our iniquities have we, our kings, and our priests, been delivered into the hand of the kings of the lands, to the sword, to captivity, and to plunder, and to confusion of face, as it is this day.

7 Desde a época dos nossos antepassados até hoje, estamos sob grande peso de culpa e, por causa das nossas iniquidades, fomos entregues, nós, os nossos reis e, inclusive, os nossos sacerdotes, nas mãos dos poderosos pagãos de outras terras e sujeitos à espada, à escravidão e aos açoites, à extorsão e à ignomínia, como se pode observar nestes dias.
