Deuteronômio 9:18

18 Prostrado estive perante o Senhor, como dantes, quarenta dias e quarenta noites; não comi pão e não bebi água, por causa de todo o vosso pecado que havíeis cometido, fazendo mal aos olhos do Senhor, para o provocar à ira.

18 And I went down on my face before the Lord, as at the first, for forty days and forty nights, without taking food or drinking water, because of all your sin, in doing evil in the eyes of the Lord and moving him to wrath.
